INGA WEST, MA, LMHC, ATR
Hi! My name is Inga and I am a therapist living in Bellingham, WA. My journey into counseling and art therapy began in 2001 when I received my BFA in Fiber Arts with a minor in Illustration from Maryland Institute College of Art.
In 2012 I pursued a Masters in Art Therapy Counseling degree at Marylhurst University just outside of Portland, OR. I completed my counseling internship for the Beaverton School District before returning to Seattle. After years of city living I moved to rural Bellingham for a slower pace where I have continued practicing as an art therapist.
Balancing the practical and spiritual, I have been studying with Char Sundust of Sundust Oracle Institute since 2009. Her teaching is multi-faceted and greatly influenced by her teacher Angeles Arrien. Angeles Arrien's legacy is The Four Fold Way. The Four Fold Way is a cross-cultural, spiritual lens through the following archetypes:
In the East is The Visionary : Speak the truth without blame or judgment
In the South is The Healer : Pay attention to what has heart and meaning
In the West is The Teacher : Be open to outcome not attached to outcome.
In the North is The Warrior : Show up and choose to be present.
Walking this archetypal foundation is my daily practice and a constant inspiration.
